With less than a month to go until the India vs Pakistan game at the Asia Cup 2023, the Indian Cricket Team has some good news. KL Rahul, India’s first-choice wicketkeeper, has begun full-fledged practice at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Rahul has been missing in action in the IND vs WI & the IND vs IRE series, but his return augurs well ahead of the World Cup 2023.
In a video uploaded on social media, Rahul can be seen in full-flow practising at the NCA. The 30-year-old had a good session with the bat, while also working on his keeping drills. KL has been at the NCA for over a month and has been working towards achieving full fitness before the Asia Cup. The Karnataka batter is key to India’s chances in the World Cup 2023.

KL Rahul to return for Asia Cup?
Rahul was expected to return for the IND vs IRE series, but was deemed not fit enough to be back for competitve action. The BCCI are opting for a caustious approach with injuries, following their Jasprit Bumrah mishap last year. India want Kl Rahul fit and at his best at the World Cup, and will give him sufficient time to recuperate.
Since moving into the middle order, Rahul has become one of the staple players in the India XI. The 30-year-old has carved a place for him at No.5, playing the perfect balancing act. Rahul has often rescued India in tricky chases recently. He also has the ability to tee off when needed, adding to India’s power hitting repetoire with Hardik Pandya & Ravindra Jadeja.
