Test or T20, it’s all the same for Jasprit Bumrah. The only thing the unorthodox pacer knows is dominance. After dominating England in Test cricket over the past couple of months, the right-arm pacer has rocked back into T20 cricket seamlessly. Back in the Mumbai Indians blue jersey after two years, the fast bowler did what he does best: produce magic.
Just a month ago, he bowled an incredible toe-crushing yorker to Ollie Pope, and now he has done it once again. This time, against the Gujarat Titans opener, Wriddhiman Saha in the GT vs MI match.
The master appreciates the apprentice
After Jasprit Bumrah beat Saha on all ends and pegged his middle stump back, the camera panned towards the ‘original’ Yorker master, Lasith Malinga. The T20 legend, who was part of the Mumbai Indians for four of their five IPL titles, was seen applauding his protege.
The slingy Sri Lankan fast bowler was known for his deadly yorker. Luckily for MI, now that he’s gone, Bumrah has taken his place as their pace spearhead while he helms the role of their bowling coach.
