Just ahead of the India vs New Zealand (IND vs NZ) World Cup semi-final clash, India has experienced an injury scare. Ace bowler Mohammed Siraj is off the field after failing to take a catch and the ball hitting his throat. Taking no risks, Siraj is off the field and is attended by the Indian physios.
Max ODowd dropped Catch
The incident took place in the 15th over of the game. Max ODowd became frustrated after being unable to play some big shots and therefore made a wild hack. Kuldeep Yadav is naturally a mystery spinner and with ODown not understanding the ball tries to go big over Kuldeep’s head in a bid to hit a sixer.
But a mistimed shot takes the ariel route and falls short of the boundary ropes comfortably into the hands of an advancing Mohammed Siraj. But Siraj fails to take a clean catch, the ball goes in between his hands and drops onto his throat as ODown survives.
Siraj didn’t look too comfortable with the ball landing on his throat from such a height. He then left the field and was attended by the physios. However, after a break from sometime he came back to the field and then went on to proceed with his mid innings spell.
