While Team India were struggling against England’s pace duo James Anderson and Mark Wood in first session of IND vs ENG 3rd Test, veteran batter Cheteshwar Pujara was seen grinding in the nets just a few meters away for Saurashtra’s Ranji Trophy clash against Manipur, set to begin on Friday.
In a video surfaced on social media, Pujara was seen playing in nets, working on his defensive shots and his footwork.
Hundred of fans turned their eyes to the nets during the lunch break to watch the veteran batter crafting his skills.
Despite the unavailability of senior players like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, the selectors chose to ignore the veteran who has been piling on runs consistently in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.

‘I am very confident‘
However, despite selectors’ ignorance, Pujara has not given up on his India comeback.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Pujara said that there is more cricket left in him and he will keep working hard in domestic circuit.
“Definitely. The way I have been batting and keeping up with my fitness, I am very confident. Scoring runs in Ranji Trophy is not a piece of cake, even though people may want to say it. There is no DRS and decisions don’t always go your way. To keep scoring one has to work hard and be at the top of the game. I hope I will be able to continue to contribute at whichever level I get an opportunity,” Pujara said.
