Watch: Hardik Pandya plays ‘no-look’ in the nets before taking on former team in MI’s IPL 2024 opener

Pandya will be looking to begin his second MI stint with a win against his former team Gujarat Titans.

Trust Hardik Pandya to come up with something new every time! Before Mumbai Indians begin their IPL 2024 campaign against Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya was seen hitting a no-look shot in the nets. While no-look pass is becoming a regular thing in modern football nowadays, it is not generally seen in cricket. However, if someone can pull off a shot like that, it has to be MI captain Hardik Pandya.

Where’s Hardik Pandya looking?

MI took to X (formerly Twitter) to post a clip of Hardik Pandya’s unique shot. Hardik is seen advancing towards the bowler in the clip and hitting the ball towards the long-off region.

The shot would have been perfectly copybook, but Pandya made it unique by not looking at the ball when he makes the connection with the bat. Pandya’s eyes are firmly on the ground when he connects the shot and he only looks up to see where the ball is heading at.

Mumbai Indians begin their IPL 2024 against the Gujarat Titans on Sunday. Hardik Pandya will return to his former home ground in Ahmedabad to take on his former team led by former GT teammate Shubman Gill. The stadium, although expected to firmly support the home team, would not mind if they see their former skipper playing shots like these.
