Indian cricket team’s star batter Virat Kohli won the hearts of many with his brilliant gesture for Pakistan skipper Babar Azam after the IND vs PAK World Cup clash at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday. Kohli gifted a signed jersey to Babar following India’s 7-wicket win over Men in Green.
In the video that has now gone viral, Babar Azam hand Virat Kohli can be seen on the ground. Kohli can be seen giving two jerseys to Babar and then duo was joined by a member of Pakistan support staff.
Notably, this is not the first time the 34-year-old has gifted a signed jersey to a Pakistani player. Last year, Kohli had done the same for Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf after match in Asia Cup 2022. Kohli gifted a signed jersey to Rauf following India’s five-wicket victory against Pakistan.
Talking about the game, Team India registered a dominating win in a one-side contest against the arch rivals. Opting to field first, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had a perfect day as his strategies and bowling changes yielded immediate results.
Jasprit Bumrah and Co. ruled the roost as they pounced on the “under pressure” Pakistan like a tiger and bundle out the visitors to 191. Rohit Sharma then did the rest with the bat as his 63-ball 86 powered India to a convincing win.
With this win, Team India have continued their spotless record against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup. Rohit and Co have also topped the points table with +1.83 net run-rate.
Team India will next face Bangladesh on October 19 at MCA Stadium, Pune.
