Batter Rajat Patidar, who is making his Test debut for India, impressed the fans and pundits with his intent early in his innings on the opening day of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test at Visakhapatnam on Friday.
While most of the young players would be cautious at the start on their debut innings, Patidar didn’t hesitate to took on England and scored few unorthodox shots to keep the visitors on the back foot.
The highlight of Patidar’s innings was reverse-sweeps which he played against Joe Root. Patidar slapped a brilliant reverse sweep through gully to keep up the scoring rate.
Talking about the game, Team India are in a commanding position on Day 1 of the Vizag Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a blazing century and is currently stitching a solid partnership with and Rajat Patidar. Earlier, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat against England.
