Ousted from the national squad, Cheteshwar Pujara is gearing up for the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024. In a video uploaded by Pujara on his social media handles, the right-handed batter is seen having a rigorous batting session.
Cheteshwar Pujara is not part of the ongoing India vs South Africa Test series. The veteran batter for long has been a solid player for India in Tests. However, his omission from the South Africa Tour made many wonder whether it was the end of the road for the veteran in India colours.
Cheteshwar Pujara has so far played 103 Tests and scored 7195 runs at an average of 43.60. He last played a Test in June against Australia. The right-handed batter is currently slated to play in the 2024 Ranji Trophy season for Saurashtra. The 36-year-old has also played several County Championship matches for Sussex in the past two years.
As mentioned above, Pujara is set to play for Saurashtra against Jharkhand in a Ranji Trophy 2024 match. The game will be played in Rajkot from January 5 onwards. Meanwhile, Pujara will be looking to score lots of runs for his side in the domestic tournament and try to stage a comeback in the national squad.
