New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell scored a stunning century in the IND vs NZ Cricket World Cup semi-final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Chasing a mammoth 398, NZ were in a spot of bother after losing two wickets but the batter scored an 85-ball century to keep his side in the hunt. During his exceptional knock, Daryl Mitchell hit a monstrous six which turned out to be the biggest of the tournament.
The incident happened in the 27th over. Ravindra Jadeja bowled a quicker delivery into the hitting zone. Mitchell tonked the ball over long-on. The monstrous six was 107 m long.
Indian batter Shreyas Iyer previously held the record for the biggest six in the ongoing World Cup. Iyer hit a 106 m six during the Sri Lanka clash at the same venue.
Talking about the game, Mitchell is still at the crease and fighting hard to take New Zealand near the target. Mitchell stitched a 181-run stand with skipper Kane Williamson before Mohammed Shami stuck twice in an over to pull India back in the game.
