IND vs ENG 4th Test: Positive signs for England, Ben Stokes resumes bowling practice ahead of IND vs ENG Ranchi Test

England Cricket Team Ben Stokes is planning to bowl in the IND vs ENG 4th Test in Ranchi. Stokes was spotted practicing bowling in the side pitches 2 days ahead of the Test match. With England’s bowling having taken a major beating by the Indian batters, the skipper will be keen to roll out his arms.

Ben Stokes hasn’t bowled in International cricket for quite sometime. Plagued by his knee injury, he went under the knife in winter. Following his recovery Stokes continued to play solely as a batter. Owing to workload management he pulled out of IPL, aiming his focus on the T20 World Cup.

But now, with India leading 2-1 in the Test series, the dynamics have changed. Though he was spotted bowling in the nets earlier in the series, there is a high chance that he might bowl in the IND vs ENG Ranchi Test. England’s head coach Brendon McCullum too hinted that Stokes can bowl in the Ranchi Test.

Stokes bowled for 20 minutes in Ranchi. Though he didn’t bowl full throttle, it is surely a welcome sign both the skipper and his team. Stokes, likely to bowl as a part time bowler will be a huge advantage to the already battered and bruised England bowling attack.

“It’s good he’s actually getting into a state where he thinks he might bowl. Ben is clever. He won’t bowl unless he thinks he’s legitimately able to. We’ll see what unfolds,” Brendon McCullum said.
