Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was seen consoling a cameraman after a maximum from Daryl Mitchell’s bat broke his equipment. Speaking about the incident, Mitchell smashed an overpitched delivery from pacer Abbas over long-off, sending the ball into the camera and smashing the expensive camera. Babar Azam who was stationed as the fielder, showed sportsmanship by consoling the cameraman and shaking hands with him.
Speaking about the match, New Zealand posted a massive 194 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Opener Finn Allen was star of the show with his 74 runs. In reply, Pakistan managed to score 173/10 in 19.3 overs as they lost the match by 21 runs. Senior batters Babar Azam (66 runs) and Fakhar Zaman (50 runs) completed their respective fifties. However, that was not enough to secure a victory for the Men in Green.
Pakistan have now lost two matches in a row and they will need to secure a win at any cost in the third match to stay alive in the series. The NZ vs PAK 3rd T20I will be played on Wednesday (January 17) in Dunedin.
