WATCH: Moving speeches from Kumble & DK as they hand debut caps to Sarfaraz Khan & Dhruv Jurel

Anil Kumble and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik gave inspiring speeches before handing the Test caps to Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel before start of Rajkot Test.

The long wait for Sarfaraz Khan to make his India debut finally came to an end as he along with young wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel made their debut in IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot on Thursday.

Indian spin legend Anil Kumble and wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik gave inspiring speeches before handing the Test caps to the young Indian duo. While Kumble handed the debut cap to Sarfaraz Khan, Karthik gave the debut cap to Dhruv Jurel before the coin toss at Rajkot.

Speaking at the coin toss, Indian skipper Rohit revealed that hosts India have opted four changes in the playing XI for the third Test against Australia. Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat, Axar Patel, and Mukesh Kumar were not named in the Indian playing XI while pacer Mohammed Siraj and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja returned to the Test side after missing the second Test.

“Looks a good pitch, better than the last two we’ve played on. Rajkot is known to be a good pitch but it’ll deteriorate as it goes. The guys have stood up and done the job for the team when it was needed. The next three Test matches will be as exciting as the first two. Need to keep our focus here and see how we can do well”, Rohit said after winning the toss.
