Minutes after getting dismissed, Virat Kohli engaged in a verbal arguement with someone in the crowd. Having been part of an unfortunate run-out with Yashasvi Jaiswal and himself being dismissed yet another time outside the off stump by Scott Boland, Kohli was greeted by boos from the crowd as he made his way to the dressing room.
Virat Kohli booed, confronts rowdy crowd
Kohli had just entered the tunnel when someone from the crowd yelled something that forced the star batter to walk back and confront them. Kohli looked at the person who hurled something verbal at him before the security personnel took him towards the Indian dressing room.
Ever since his altercation with Sam Konstas, the crowd in Melbourne has turned on the former Indian captain. Usually revered by Australian cricket fans, it’s probably the first time since they flicked his middle finger at the crowd at Sydney Cricket Ground in 2012.
He was booed while fielding near the boundary earlier in the day, and fans were at him once again when he entered the ground to bat in the final session of the day. Frustrated due to his dismissal that run-out, Kohli seemed to have had enough and decided to fight back.
