After a dramatic IPL 2025 match where Delhi Capitals snatched the win against Lucknow Super Giants by one wicket, LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka engaged in an extended conversation with captain Rishabh Pant and head coach Justin Langer. And he was also seen giving a pep talk to the LSG squad.
The match, held at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, saw Delhi Capitals successfully chase down a target of 210 runs in 19.3 overs. Axar Patel’s leadership guided his team to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Sanjiv Goenka had an extensive chat with Rishabh Pant on the ground. Many speculations came that he’s bashing Pant for losing the match. Later , today, LSG confirmed that it was just a normal conversation.
After having a chat with Pant, Goenka had a light-hearted conversation with the team. But later, he went into the dressing room to have an extensive conversation with the players. He seemed to have a conversation with players and tell them what went wrong, just like how coaches do usually.

Pant’s challenging outing
Rishabh Pant faced a tough debut for LSG, getting dismissed for a duck in six balls by Kuldeep Yadav. He also missed a crucial stumping opportunity, which could have swung the game in Lucknow’s favor. LSG initially looked strong at 161/2 but faltered after Pant and Nicholas Pooran (75 off 30) were dismissed, eventually setting a target of 209/8.
Ashutosh Sharma’s heroics
Delhi’s chase started poorly, with the team at 65/5. However, Ashutosh Sharma’s exceptional innings of 66* off 31 balls, along with partnerships with Tristan Stubbs (34 off 22) and Vipraj Nigam (39 off 15), turned the tide. Ashutosh’s match-winning performance earned him the Player of the Match award and sealed a thrilling victory for Delhi.
