Melbourne Renegades’ Aaron Finch had a disappointing outing in his final game in the Big Bash League (BBL) on Saturday (January 13). The World Cup winning skipper departed on a 3-ball duck in the Melbourne derby.
Finch received a guard of honour when he walked out to bat. However, the batter couldn’t make a lasting impression as he was caught while trying to hit over long-off.
Earlier, the Melbourne Renegades decided to retire his jersey No.5. It was the first instance in the history of BBL that a jersey was retired.

Finch finished his 15-year stint in BBL as the all-time leading run-scorer for the Melbourne Renegades.
Before the game, Finch talked about his retirement and said that the Australian cricket is in good hands.
“It’s time to move on and the next generation of players coming through is seriously good, so it’s in good hands,” Finch was quoted as saying before the match.
