The focus is all on David Warner after the batter played his farewell Test against Pakistan at the SCG. Ending his Test career on high with a fifty to his name and winning the match for his side in his final match. However, controversy still follows him around.
For the unaware, Warner had claimed that he lost his ‘baggy green’ before his farewell Test and requested the safe return of it. Within a couple of days, the cap had made its way back to the opener.
However, no explanation as to how it went missing or how he got it back has been revealed. With David Warner calling it quits on his Test cricket, it was bound he was going to be asked this question.
After the AUS vs PAK 3rd Test was over with the hosts’ completing a whitewash, skipper Pat Cummins was asked the question, The fast bowlers cheekyly suggested, “Ask Davey.” The player of the series then said, “It’s probably not my story to tell.”
And soon, the man, who had just retired, was asked the question. When asked how he got his ‘baggy green’ back, David Warner gave a peculiar answer.
“You’re going to have to ask security,” he said.
Warner further added that he has no explanation for how he got it back:
“I wish I played a prank like that. I literally got it handed to me, and then there was nothing (by way of explanation). That’s legitimate.”
