It does not happen very often that a flight has to be diverted from original destination due to inclement weather. The possibility of that happening twice is just negligible. But that is exactly what happened with Team KKR on May 6, when they left from Lucknow, after their match against LSG, and only managed to reach the next day.
On account of bad weather, first the flight to Kolkata was first diverted to Guwahati, and then to Varanasi. Now, the team has finally, and safely reached Kolkata, where they play next match against Mumbai Indians on May 11.

While facing turbulence mid-air could be a frightening experience, it seems like the KKR players weren’t really scared of what was happening in the flight. In fact, the team also released an entire video of what transpired on the plane. In all, a three-hour flight became a 22-hour flight for the KKR players.
KKR on Top, All But Through to Playoffs
Minus the flight-incident, it has been an excellent year so far for KKR, who are the table-toppers in IPL 2024. They have won eight encounters in 11 played, and have 16 points. A win their next match would ensure that they progress to the playoffs, rather easily. Sunil Narin and Phil Salt, by far have been their most successful players, who have won matches alone on the basis of their explosive batting.
