The IPL 2025 carnival is here, and all eyes are on this competition. There is no doubt that the entire two months will be packed with action. The first match will be between KKR and RCB, and interestingly, this will be the second time these two teams are playing the IPL opener.
They previously faced off in the very first season of this cash-rich league, where it was all about Brendon McCullum. He stole the spotlight with a giant 158-run innings against RCB, completely dethroning the Bengaluru franchise.
Recently, the current KKR squad recalled memories of the first season of the IPL. Surprisingly, many of them were less than five years old at the time, some were in school, while others were just stepping into the cricketing scene.
In the recently released video by KKR, Angkrish Raghuvanshi recalled that he was four years old. On the other hand, KKR’s MVP Sunil Narine said he was in school. Also, Venkatesh Iyer mentioned that he was having some exams and remembered how he turned off the TV when Sourav Ganguly got out.
Time for a big game!
Nothing better than this! That’s correct, KKR is set to meet RCB, and like their last few meetings, we can expect another thriller.
Interestingly, both teams are coming in with new captains. On one hand, we have Ajinkya Rahane leading KKR, while on the other, Rajat Patidar is set to take on the RCB mantle. It will be interesting to see how things come.
