A jubilant India skipper Rohit Sharma admitted that the T20 World Cup win was something that the team needed desperately. With the win against South Africa, the veteran finally has added an ICC trophy to his cabinet as a skipper. Sharma lauded the side for sticking together through tough times and high pressure games and that they had been playing the same way for the last 3-4 years.

“It is not today, it is what we have been doing for the last 3-4 years. We have played lots of high pressure games and come on the wrong side too. But the guys understand what is to be done when the back is against the wall, we stuck together and the guys, all of us really wanted to win this really bad,” India skipper Rohit Sharma said at the post-match presentation.
