Want to be Virat Kohli: Lakshya Sen keen to emulate Indian star in Indian badminton

Indian badminton star Lakshya Sen ready to bounce back from Paris Olympics Loss. Keen to become Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in coming years!

Indian ace badminton star Lakshya Sen has claimed that he wants to be Virat Kohli of Indian badminton. Much like the India Cricket Team star, Lakshya Sen too wants to be the biggest Indian superstar in badminton. Sen has claimed that in the coming years, he wants to contribute to badminton just like what Kohli has done for Indian Cricket.

Following his loss to Victor Axelsen, Lakshya Sen was slammed hard by coach Prakash Padukone. The former great went on to claim that the Indian players need to deliver in the big stages after receiving the support that they get. And now in a bid to improve, Sen wants to emulate Virat Kohli.

“I want to be the Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in the coming years – he has done a lot for Indian cricket,” Lakshya Sen said in the TRS podcast.

Lakshya Sen had been good at the Paris Olympics. But he missed out on his semi finals match as he faced Denmark’s Victor Axelsen and bowed out to the current World number 2. Furthermore, he then lost his bronze medal match to Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia.

Currently Lakshya Sen will be keen to build on his fitness. He is slated to travel to Austria for his training. Once he regains full fitness, he will be raring to return to competitive badminton in September
