Sarfaraz Khan wants bilateral cricket between the India and Pakistan cricket teams to resume. The archrivals have been at odds for a long time, and the two teams haven’t travelled to a series in their respective nations for over a decade now. But the former Pakistan captain wants them to clash outside of the ICC events.
India vs Pakistan series, once again
For the 13 years, India vs. Pakistan matches have been happening in the ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup, or Champions Trophy. Sarfaraz wants to change that.
“Bilateral series should happen between the two countries. In 2005, there was a series. People talk about the rivalry, but off the field, I have not seen a better friendship between players of two countries,” Sarfaraz Khan told reporters in Dubai.

“Our people want to see Kohli, Rohit Sharma & Bumrah,” Sarfaraz Khan
The wicketkeeper knows that the Pakistani public adores Indian stars like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah. If Team India comes to visit, they’ll feel the same closeness the Hyderabadi people gave Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023. He knows that didn’t happen in the ICC Champions Trophy but hopes it’ll happen soon enough.
“I will tell you a general view of the Pakistani people: they want to see the Indian team in Pakistan. Our people want to see Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah. They love them a lot. In this tournament (ICC Champions Trophy), it did not happen, but I hope in the future, India will come to Pakistan,” he added.
Former Indian cricketers have shared how much they received in Pakistan, with shopkeepers refusing to accept money for purchases. Sarfaraz reiterated that Team India will receive the same love if they travel to Pakistan once again.
“In 2008, in the Asia Cup, which I was a part of, the Indian team came to Pakistan. The people love and respect Indian cricketers a lot,” the Pakistan captain concluded.
