After losing three matches in a row, Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians on Thursday notched up their second successive win against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. MI, given a target of 197 runs, reached the target with over 4 overs to spare as Ishan Kishan‘s 34-ball 69 and Suryakumar Yadav‘s 19 ball 52 ensured MI reached their target easily. After the match, both stars caught up for a chat.
Playful banter on best strike-rate award
“How did you feel that I took the award for the best strike rate from you?” Suryakumar Yadav asked Ishan Kishan in a playful banter.
“I was very happy. I wanted you to get your half-century as early as possible. I had scored a 50 in 16 balls, I wanted you to do the same. This is a long tournament, you have the opportunity to score a a quicker half-century later,” Ishan Kishan answered.
Impact of the Impact Sub
Ishan Kishan also pulled SKY’s leg, saying he relaxes as an impact player when MI fields.
“How do you feel being an impact player? You sit out, chat during our fielding, then come in and score a blazing half-century?” Ishan asked.
“I actually relax while sitting out. I observe how the wicket is behaving. If you’re in a free mind, then you can really have an impact in the game,” said SKY.
