Wait over! T20 World Cup champions India due to land in Delhi on Thursday early morning

The Indian contingent were stuck in Barbados for four days as Hurricane Beryl forced flights to be cancelled and the airport to be closed.

After a delay of four days, world champions India are finally about to arrive in India. The Indian team were left stranded at Barbados after playing the T20 World Cup final against South Africa. Rohit Sharma and co, who won the trophy after triumphing over the Proteas by 7 runs, were stuck in Barbados due to inclement weather conditions because of a hurricane. However, with the skies clearing up, India are due to arrive in Delhi on Thursday. Their flight will land at Delhi Airport at 6am.

Hurricane delays returns

The Indians won a fantastic game at Barbados which saw many ups and downs. However, following the victory, the Indian contingent were stuck in Barbados airport as Hurricane Beryl forced flights to be cancelled and the airport to be closed.

Wait finally getting over

The Indian team had to wait for 4 days as the Hurricane wreaked havoc in the Caribbeans. However, all that seems to be behind Team India now. The BCCI has arranged for a special Air India Cricket 24 World Champion flight, which will bring not only the cricketers, but stranded Indian journalists home as well.

The flight, which will bring Indian contingent home, is due to land at 6am on Thursday at the Delhi Airport. A huge crowd can be expected at the airport to welcome the newly-crowned world champions.
