Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday featured in his 100th Test for India in the final match of the IND vs ENG series. Wishes poured in for the off-spinner from all fronts including some of the Indian cricket greats. VVS Laxman, Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Kaif all took to social media to deliver special messages for Ashwin.
VVS Laxman heaped praises on the off-spinner and said his 100th Test is a tribute to Ashwin’s passion, hunger and constant pursuit of excellence.
“A remarkable achievement by a remarkable cricketer. 100 Tests is a tribute to Ashwin’s passion, hunger, drive, pursuit of excellence and great endurance. To keep striving to get better is the hallmark of a true champion. Go well, Ash, have a wonderful game,” Laxman wrote on X.
Mohammad Kaif hailed Ashwin as a true champion of Indian cricket.
“100 Tests mean 100×100 learnings. That’s what has made Ashwin the genius that he is today. A true champion of Indian cricket!” Kaif said on X.
Along with Ashwin, England’s Jonny Bairstow is also playing in his 100th Test in Dharamshala. Indian cricket’s master blaster Sachin Tendulkar wished both Ashwin and Bairstow in his post on X.
“It’s a historic day in Dharamsala as @ashwinravi99 and @jbairstow21 don the international whites for the 100th time. An incredible achievement that speaks volumes about their passion and perseverance for red-ball cricket. I wish them both a fantastic game ahead!” Sachin wrote.
