Visuals not looking good: Ex-cricketers bash MI seniors for not accepting Hardik Pandya as skipper

Their comments came when Hardik Pandya was left by himself in the dugout after their defeat to RR, with no teammates or coaches around to offer him support.

Mumbai Indians are at a tough spot at the moment. One of the most successful franchises in the history of IPL, the five-time champions have had dismal start, losing their first three matches of the IPL 2024 season. Moreover, there are numerous issues plaguing the team. Former cricketers bashed the senior cricketers of the team, claiming new skipper Hardik Pandya is not being supported by the team’s senior players.

Their comments came after Mumbai Indians succumbed to their third successive defeat against Rajasthan Royals. After the match, Hardik Pandya was left by himself in the dugout, with no teammates or coaches around to offer him support.

Situation not looking good: Harbhajan

The lack of support enraged Harbhajan Singh. “The visuals are not looking good. He has been left alone. The players of the franchise should accept him as their captain. The decision has been made and the team should stick together. Having played for this franchise, the situation is not looking good,” Harbhajan Singh said.

Big personalities creating hindrance: Rayudu

Another former MI player Ambati Rayudu said Hardik is not being allowed to lead the side freely.

I don’t know whether it is intentional or unintentional. But there are a lot of people in the team who are making him confused. The big personalities in the dressing room are not allowing him to work freely as a captain. This is not the good situation to be in for any captain,” Ambati Rayudu said.

The dug-out pictures of Hardik are telling a sad story: Sidhu

Hardik is feeling dejected and sad because there is no one he can speak to. Other players should understand that a team can only win when everyone plays together as a unit. If they don’t do it, Mumbai will not win. The dug-out pictures of Hardik are telling a sad story,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said.
