India loan Pakistan ‘fans’ in Chennai as crowd dons Babar Azam jersey

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official X account also shared the images of fans cheering for Pakistan in Chennai.

Pakistan cricket team are playing Afghanistan in the Cricket World Cup 2023 match at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. While many were expecting a sea of blue for the support of Afghanistan team, many fans turned up in stadium in Green jersey to show their support for Babar Azam and Co.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official X account also shared the images of fans cheering for Pakistan in Chennai.

“Good to see some support rolling in for the Pakistan team in the #PAKvAFG match in Chennai”, Pakistan Cricket tweeted.

Earlier, they Hyderabad crowd showed their love for Babar Azam when they chanted Pakistan skipper’s name at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium during PAK vs NED game.

The Pakistan skipper had acknowledged the support of the crowd during the post-match presentation.

“The way Hyderabad supports us, we are very happy. Our team is enjoying the hospitality”, Babar said after the game.

Talking about the ongoing game, Babar Azam (74) and Abdullah Shafique’s fifties powered Pakistan to 282/7 in 50 overs against Afghanistan. All-rounders Shadab Khan (40) and Iftikhar Ahmed (40) played brilliant cameos as the Men in Green amassed 91 runs in the final 10 overs to push team to a good total on a tricky pitch.
