When T20 cricket was still in baby stages in the early 2000s, the former India opener Sehwag used to strike at a strike rate of over 90.

While Sri Lanka is going through turmoil on and off the field, there is something to cheer finally as legendary cricketer Arvinda de Silva is inducted into the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame. Along with the former Lankan player, former India cricketers Diana Edulji and Virender Sehwag were also inducted. Edulji was a terror during her heydays picking over 130 wickets in both formats.

When women’s cricket was not even a thing back in the late 70s and ’80s, Edulji was a trailblazer and paved the way for many of the girls to follow the dream of being a cricketer.

As far as Virender Sehwag, there is no introduction needed as he is still regarded as India’s best opening batter across Test and ODI formats. When T20 cricket was still in baby stages in the early 2000s, the former India opener used to strike at a strike rate of over 90.

Virender Sehwag used to kill the match in the powerplay itself by giving India blazing starts. His contribution at the top helped India win T20 World Cup in 2007, and also 50-over WC in 2011.
