Virat, Rohit and Jadeja are going to continue contributing in the longer format: VVS Laxman

Following their team's victory in the T20 World Cup, the three pillars of the Indian team declared their retirement from T20 internationals although they will keep playing ODIs and Tests.

After ending their T20I careers, the reliable combination of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja will undoubtedly continue to contribute in the longer format, according to former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman. Following their team’s victory in the T20 World Cup, the three pillars of the Indian team declared their retirement from T20 internationals. Their T20I careers had a happily ever after, as they concluded with a T20 World Cup trophy in their possession.

My message to these three stalwarts of the game — Virat, Rohit and I consider Ravindra Jadeja also an extremely talented player who has contributed immensely to the development of the Indian cricket team. A big congratulations. Thank you for all the contribution they have given the great game,” Laxman said in a video posted by the BCCI on their social media.

Laxman expecting more from Virat Kohli, Jadeja and Rohit Sharma

Laxman expressed his confidence that Jadeja, Rohit, and Kohli will keep contributing to the Indian team’s ODI and Test lineups.

They set an example for the youngsters to follow. The passion and the pride with which they played the game is exemplary. While they have retired from this format, I am sure that they will continue to prepare the way they did in their careers. A big congratulations for their excellent T20 career. I am sure they are going to continue to contribute in the longer version of the game,” Laxman said.

Laxman is currently in Zimbabwe, leading the young Indian team in their T20I series against the hosts.
