India cricket team batter Virat Kohli‘s stay at the crease at the MCG was brought to a grinding halt by Scott Boland on Day 2 of IND vs AUS 4th Test. The batting maestro managed to ward off 85 deliveries before he was caught behind by Alex Carey shortly before stumps. Kohli looked the most comfortable in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series during his stay at the crease at the MCG, mixing his batting up well with some glorious drives and leaves.
Virat Kohli’s show at MCG brought to end by Boland
Kohli’s 36-run knock was studded with just four boundaries, as the batter treaded cautiously against the Australian bowlers. While the visitors tried to lure him to play the shot outside off, he remained calm and displayed grit as he built a strong partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, it looked like he was distracted after Jaiswal was run-out in an unfortunate manner in the over before his dismissal.

Virat was embroiled in controversy on Day 1 of the contest for making physical contact with Australian opener Sam Konstas on Day 1. He was docked 20% of his match fee and was handed one demerit point for shoulder barging into the 19-year-old debutant. He was greeted by a sea of boos while he walked in to bat on Day 2. While he looked his solid touch, Virat’s dismissal put India in a perilous position once again at the end of play on Day 2.
