Virat Kohli wowed at non-striker’s end as Shubman Gill given “rude” sendoff by Abrar Ahmed

Abrar Ahmed bowled one of the best balls of the tournament to get rid of Shubman Gill in the India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy match.

Shubman Gill looked like a million dollar when he was facing the Pakistan pacers in the India vs Pakistan clash in Dubai. He caressed some of the best drives you’d ever see and was destined to score his fifth consecutive fifty-plus score in one-day internationals. But Gill’s innings was cut short with an absolute peach somewhat fittingly. Abrar Ahmed delivered one of the best balls of the tournament to castle Gill. Incredibly, it was what happened after the delivery that equally made the headlines.

Watch: Abrar Ahmed castles Shubman Gill but what about the send-off?

In the 18th over, Abrar Ahmed conjured up a magical delivery to dismiss Gill, leaving him utterly bewildered. The Pakistani spinner bowled a masterful leg-break that spun away from the right-handed Gill, who was caught off guard. The ball pitched around middle and leg, and Abrar’s clever use of two fingers induced a sharp turn, beating Gill’s outside edge as he attempted to guide the ball. However, it clipped the top of the middle and off stump, sending Gill packing.

It was a delivery that even the best batters would struggle to handle, and Abrar’s brilliance left the Indian team reeling. Notably, it even left Virat Kohli in a “wowed” state. However, the send-off caught the attention of many as he folded his arms around and pointed Gill to walk back to the pavilion by his neck. Jokingly to say, Abrar continued the traditional argy-bargy between India and Pakistan matches.
