Indian speedster Mohammed Shami has named Virat Kohli as the best batter in the world, saying that the former Indian captain has broken a lot of records. However, the India cricketer ranked current Indian captain Rohit Sharma over Virat Kohli as the most dangerous batter in the world.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma has been the mainstays of the Indian batting line-up, being the most experienced of the lot. The duo had a fantastic ODI World Cup last year. Virat finished the World Cup with the man of the series award, scoring 765 runs in 11 matches. He became the first batter to cross the 700-run mark in a single edition of ODI World Cup. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma scored 597 runs in the tournament. Rohit, opening the batting for India, gave India fantastic starts in the tournament more often than not and paved the way for other batters to score.
Rohit has struggled with form recently, and has not been at his best in the recent IND vs ENG Test series. However, when Shami was asked to choose the best batters in the world, he chose to name two of his teammates.
“Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. He has just broken a lot of records. I feel Virat is the best but if you ask me who the most dangerous batter in the world is, I would say Rohit Sharma,” Shami said in an interaction with News18.
