Virat Kohli takes captaincy charge as Bumrah leaves the field during IND vs AUS Test

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury has left India in a tough spot, with Virat Kohli stepping in as captain. His aggressive leadership replaces Bumrah’s calm approach.

The IND vs AUS fifth Test is becoming more interesting. After dominating the first session on the second day, now Jasprit Bumrah has left the field, increasing the trouble for India. Coming in as a captain again after the Perth Test, Bumrah has dual responsibilities along with looking for the pace attack. As Bumrah is now out of the field, India’s ex-captain and senior player, Virat Kohli, is seen leading the team again. Not to forget, Virat Kohli always has a different approach than Rohit Sharma or Jasprit Bumrah. He is an aggressive captain and had much dominance in his era of captaincy.

Jasprit Bumrah out

Jasprit Bumrah went out of the field in the middle of the second session after he felt some discomfort. Bumrah bowled seven overs in the morning session. After a rest, he returned for more after lunch. However, after bowling the 31st over (the second over after lunch), Bumrah walked off the field. Initially, it seemed fine, as Bumrah had taken short breaks before during the India vs Australia Test series. But after more than half an hour with no sign of Bumrah, everyone started to worry. As Sarfaraz Khan, who came in as a substitute, stayed on the field, Indian fans became increasingly concerned about Bumrah’s injury.

No Rohit & Bumrah, Team depends on Kohli

Rohit Sharma has dropped himself from the Sydney Test, which is why Jasprit Bumrah was given the captaincy role of the team. However, now he’s injured, there’s no senior player in the squad who could lead the squad, so Virat Kohli is given the responsibility to lead the team. Earlier, being the full-time captain, Virat Kohli won 40 Test matches as India’s Test captain which makes him the most successful for India.
