Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli achieved yet another milestone during IND vs SL Cricket World Cup encounter on Thursday. The 34-year-old overtook legendary Sachin Tendulkar to become the player with most number of 1000+ runs in a calendar year in ODIs. Kohli now has reached the 1000-run mark a record 8 times in ODIs.
Earlier, Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar held the record by amassing 1,000+ ODI runs 7 times in his ODI career.
The former Indian skipper surpassed another batting legend during the game against Sri Lanka. With his 70th half century in the 50-over format, Kohli overtook Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara for scoring most fifty plus scores by a non-opener in World Cup history.

Regarding the match, India are eyeing a big score at Wankhede despite losing Indian skipper Rohit Sharma early.
