Kohli was quick off the blocks and got off the mark with a boundary of Khaleel Ahmed in the first over. He then reached the milestone with a glorious cut short off Axar Patel. The 34-year-old completed his 7000 runs at his home ground and in front of his childhood coach. The RCB ace also sought his blessing before the game, touching his feet before the match began.

He eventually reached his half-century in just 42 balls. It is his 50th half-century in IPL history, the second most behind David Warner. He also went past 100 runs against Delhi Capitals, becoming the fourth to score more than 1000 runs against a franchise.
