Virat Kohli superfan travels ’58 kms’ on bicycle to watch idol play in Green Park Stadium

Kohli is one of the most celebrated people in India and is arguably the most famous cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar.

There is a reason why people say cricket is a religion in India. Therefore, players are seen as gods or deities. For a 15-year-old child named Kartikeya, Virat Kohli is a ‘god-like’ figure. Hailing from Unnao, a city in Uttar Pradesh, the youngster pedaled a whopping 58 kilometers just to catch a glimpse of Kohli.

Kartikeya made his way to the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on what seemed like a ‘rusty’ old bicycle. Asked if his parents objected, he said, ‘I said I’m going to watch Kohli, so they said okay, go’. The 15-year-old started pedalling at 4 AM and reached there on time. Why was he there so early and who for, he said Virat Kohli.

However, Kartikeya will have to wait. Rain disrupted the first session play of the India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test, but the match is expected to start soon. Let’s hope that the weather doesn’t play a further role in disrupting the match and Kartikeya gets to watch his idol play.
