Virat Kohli smashes ton and records, etches his name in the history books after his 113* vs RR

Virat Kohli has taken his IPL 2024 runs tally to another level. He is the current Orange Cap holder with 316 runs at an immaculate average of 105.33 in five innings.

The crowd at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur were in for a delight as Virat Kohli came up with another masterclass. The modern-day maestro hammered 113* in RCB’s recent clash against RR on Saturday, April 6. Batting first, Kohli propelled his side to a great first-inning total to 183/3. While the pitch wasn’t as conducive to expansive strokes, Kohli toiled hard and made sure to keep RR bowlers under pressure always.

While his skipper Faf du Plessis struggled to time the ball, Kohli found gaps and kept the run-scoring ticking. Despite starting off rather slowly, Kohli upped his game as the innings went on. He initially made his first 65 runs off 47 but then hammered his next 48 runs in just 28 balls.

In total, the 35-year-old bludgeoned an unbeaten 113 off 72 balls, smashing 12 boundaries and four lusty maximums. En route to his fabulous hundred, Kohli also shattered a slew of records.
