The fan who breached security to fall at Virat Kohli’s feet and hug him revealed what the star told him. As soon as the ex-RCB captain reached his half-century in the KKR vs RCB IPL 2025 opener in Kolkata, 18-year-old Rituparno Pakhira evaded security to make it to the middle to meet his “childhood hero”. Although he was escorted by security soon after, the fan relished the moment and said that he would never regret his actions.

As per Times of India, the fan was granted bail on Monday. He was charged under sections of BNS on application of criminal force, criminal trespass and reckless actions putting lives or safety of others in danger and was sent to police custody for a day. Magistrate Kaustav Mukhopadhyay not only turned down the Kolkata Police’s plea for further custody but also advised the fan to ““be like Kohli in life” and not risk others’ lives by breaching security.
“The moment I touched his feet, Virat Kohli sir picked me up, asked my name and said jaldi se bhaag ja (run away fast). Kolhi sir even asked the security personnel coming to catch me to not hit me and asked them to escort me out of the ground gently,” the fan said after he was granted bail.

“I had planned to enter the ground at any cost and prepared myself. I do not have any regrets. I am very happy that I was successful and that I could touch my god,” the fan added.
Fan hugs Kohli, refuses to let go of him
As soon as Kohli brought up his half-century, a fan was seen sprinting all the way from the boundary line towards the batter after dodging security. On reaching the batter, he fell on his feet and then was seen clinging on to the RCB star. Virat even gave him a warm embrace before he was pulled away by security. The fan’s actions were cheered by the crowd in Kolkata.
