Virat Kohli Run Drought: Virat Kohli’s batting form has become a national debate in India. With India pinning great hopes whenever he walks onto the field to bat, such things were bound to happen. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar is confident that the former India captain will be back amongst the runs soon. He, however, wants the Indian batter to stay away from social media and ignore the criticism, which is levelled against him. Follow Cricket Updates with InsideSport.IN.
He may not be hyper active when it comes to social media, but one also has to understand he makes some good moolah from it as well via a single post. However, it is on social media, where players get criticized a lot by the general public along with the experts. That could have an impact on the player, mentally.

“Ignore the criticism levelled against you. Move aside from social media. Focus on yourself. Ignore what others are saying. When I met Kohli in 2010, there was aggression, aggression and willingness to fight. That is not lost. Only his form is lost, it will come back. I want to tell the Indians, that he is great player, you cannot treat him like that.” Akhtar said in his YouTube video.
Akhtar is aware of the talent and class Kohli has in him. He believes he can still score more than 30 or may be even 40 centuries. He has scored 70 international centuries so far and another 30 would take him to century of centuries. He scored his last hundred in November 2019 against Bangladesh in a pink ball Test.

With the kind of form Kohli has seen in the last one year and more, it would be difficult to see him achieving the 100 centuries, but Akhtar remains positive. The former speedster wants him to spend more time on the crease to help things get better.
“You have to score 30 more centuries to. I have told 110, score 40 more. You are young and fit, don’t be scared. People should know who they are trying to tackle. You just go and be composed and focus on batting. Stay at the wicket, spend time there, you will score runs, everything will come back. Play 100 balls, then you come out of it.”
