Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra advised veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to be wary of Australia’s left-arm pacers. After losing the ODI World Cup 2023 final to Pat Cummins and co, the Men in Blue will be eyeing revenge when they take on the Aussies in the Champions Trophy semi-final on Tuesday. Ahead of the contest, Chopra highlighted a factor that could potentially trouble Ro-Ko in the high-octane clash.
All eyes on Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli
In a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra pointed out that Rohit and Virat enjoyed a love story with Australia. However, he warned that Australia should be ruled out on one’s own peril, stating that a team cannot take them lightly. He noted that this where the seniors like Ro-Ko come into play.
“Rohit and Kohli, Ro-Ko vs Australia is a love story. It’s a fascinating story because the opposition is big. No matter how weak the team might be looking from the bowling point of view, it’s Australia. Rule them out at your own peril. You cannot take them lightly at all. It is that kind of a team. So how do you compete? You look towards your seniors,” Chopra said.

He further warned the duo of Kohli and Rohit about the trouble they can expect from Australia’s left-handed bowlers. Ben Dwarshuis has 6 wickets in the Champions Trophy so far while Spencer Johnson has 2 to his name.
“Virat Kohli has already scored a hundred. I will talk about Rohit today because runs haven’t been scored thus far. He scored a decent 41 in the first match but it’s been two knocks since. Now is the time, you have to play slightly long. Both left-arm fast bowlers can trouble. Then you have to expect your big guns to come to the party,” he added.
