Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ended their first innings of their cricketing careers on June 29 by announcing their retirement from T20Is. Now, it’s time for new beginnings. They’ll commence their 2nd innings together on August 2, playing the India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma first practice since retirement
Under Gautam Gambhir, they’ll look to continue like before. Breaking records, continuing to lead from the front, and winning the Champions Trophy 2025 will be on their minds. Although Gambhir wasn’t himself present for the practice, Abhishek Nayar, who was alongside him at the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 season, was overseeing the practice for the ODI series.
Having gone through the heartbreak of losing the 2023 ODI World Cup Final, the only goal on Kohli and Rohit’s minds would be to take India to glory in the big ICC events coming in the next couple of years.
