Former India cricket team selector Chetan Sharma has jumped to the defence of under-fire Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma ahead of IND vs AUS Test series. The veteran duo have been criticised over their poor form in the longest format of the game, having failed in both the series against Bangladesh and New Zealand. Ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Sharma claimed that players like Virat and Rohit were never out of form.
‘Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma never out of form’
As per Times of India, Chetan Sharma condemned the use of phrases like ‘out of form’ for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He claims that there is never a lean patch for the duo. The former selector predicts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to dazzle with the bats in the five-match series against Australia.
“Let’s honor and respect what Rohit and Virat have done for the country. Players like Rohit and Virat are never out of form. They are never in a lean or bad patch. These words shouldn’t be used for them. We are thankful to them. They are still doing it. We always talk about them and focus on them and want them to shine every time because they are superstars. Just wait and watch what Rohit and Virat do in Australia. They will dazzle with their bats,” Chetan Sharma said.
