Senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are eyeing major milestones in the upcoming ODI series against West Indies. The first match of the series will be played in Barbados on July 27. Both Rohit and Kohli were in emphatic form in the recently concluded Test series against the home side and they will be looking to continue their red-hot form against the Carribean team in the 50-over format.

Kohli needs 102 runs to completed 13,000 ODI runs
The former Indian skipper is within striking distance of the fastest 13000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). This extraordinary feat presently belongs to cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, who accomplished it in 321 innings.
At present, Kohli has amassed 12898 runs in the 50-over format. He needs only 102 runs to surpass the Little Master’s record. A look at the stats shows that Kohli could potentially shatter this record in his next 55 innings. Such a feat would make him the quickest to reach 13000 runs in the history of ODI cricket.
Apart from Kohli, skipper Rohit is also eyeing a major milestone in the ODI format. The right-handed batter requires just 175 runs to complete 10,000 runs in the 50-over format.
Notably, Rohit would become the sixth Indian and 15th player overall to enter the 10,000-run club. Among Indians, he would join the likes of Sachin Tendulkar (18,426), Virat Kohli (12,809), Sourav Ganguly (11,363), Rahul Dravid (10,889) and MS Dhoni (10,773). Meanwhile, Kohli is the only active player with more ODI runs than the Indian skipper. Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal (8,143) trails him in this regard.
