Virat Kohli Resigns: Rohit Sharma to take over the baton after T20 World Cup, first test to be in South Africa – Team India captain Virat Kohli has decided to step down as the skipper of the Indian cricket team in T20 format after the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to take place in November. Rohit Sharma is all set to take on the captaincy of Team India after the mega event and his first test as a captain will be in South Africa when India will tour the nation for four-match T20I series.
Virat Kohli on Thursday posted a statement on his Twitter handle where he revealed that he will be stepping down as the captain of the T20I cricket team.
Virat Kohli Resigns: “After a lot of contemplation and discussions with my close people, Ravi bhai and also Rohit, who have been an essential part of the leadership group, I’ve decided to step down as the T20 Captain after this T20 World Cup in Dubai in October, ” Virat Kohli said in his statement.
