Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the schedule for a six-match white-ball series, which includes three ODIs and as many T20Is in August. The series takes place immediately after India’s tour of England, which concludes on August 4. With just a two-week gap between the long Test series and the Bangladesh tour, seniors, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, are likely to be absent.
Apart from them, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul could also miss the IND vs BAN ODI series. All three are Test regulars and they will need rest after a long two-month tour of England. However, they will be in contention for the Asia Cup 2025 T20Is. Hence, they could feature in the IND vs BAN T20I series. Asia Cup takes place in September and the T20I series against Bangladesh would be the final series before the squad announcement for the Asia Cup.
Bumrah, having returned from injury after two months, is currently playing in IPL 2025. Immediately after IPL, he will play a gruelling five-match Test series in England. The premier pacer suffered an injury setback due to the workload in Australia. Hence, Bumrah is certain to be rested after the IND vs ENG series.

Question mark on Rohit Sharma
There is a chance that Rohit Sharma will feature in the ODI series if he is not picked for the England Test series. While Rohit has retired from T20Is, he is still the captain of the ODI team. However, his Test future is in doldrums.
Rohit endured a dreadful Australia tour, where he averaged 6.20 in five innings. He could only score 3 and 28 in the only Ranji Trophy match he played for Mumbai. Before the tour to Australia, Rohit averaged 10.50 in four innings against Bangladesh and 15.16 in six innings against New Zealand at home. Rohit scored just 164 runs in 15 innings at an average of 10.93 in the red ball season. In IPL 2025, he has scores of 0, 8, 13, 17 and 18 in five innings.
Hence, even though Rohit is officially the captain of the India Test team, it could change soon with Jasprit Bumrah back in IPL 2025 from injury. If he Rohit misses out on the Test spot, he is likely to lead India team in the ODI series against Bangladesh.

India vs Bangladesh schedule
Team India haven’t won in Bangladesh since 2014. India have lost the last two ODI series in Bangladesh 1-2. Hence, it would be important for India to reclaim the series.
