“God is the best script writer! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, being honest to yourself and to the sport always. You are truly god’s child,” Anushka Sharma wrote in her Instagram story.

In the semi-final showdown against New Zealand on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Virat Kohli etched his name in history by becoming the first player to achieve 50 centuries in One Day International (ODI) cricket.

Bolstered by outstanding centuries from Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, as well as record-breaking bowling displays by Mohammed Shami, Team India achieved a 70-run win over New Zealand. This win secured their place in the ICC World Cup 2023 final.

Anushka also shared a picture of the Indian cricket team on her story wrote, “This. gun. team.” Additionally, she praised the ‘Player of the Match’ Mohammed Shami, who secured seven wickets in the match. Shami’s remarkable display not only set a record for the best figures by an Indian bowler in the tournament but also marked his achievement of reaching 50 wickets in just 17 games.

Having secured their place in the World Cup final, the Men In Blue now await the outcome of the South Africa versus Australia semi-final clash set for Thursday, November 16, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The winner of this match will go head-to-head with Team India in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.
