Team India is set to take on Australia in the all-important final clash of the WTC 2023. The encounter will take place at the Kennington Oval, London from June 7 onwards. Ahead of the match, the official broadcaster for the game, Star Sports dropped a video of team India hitting the nets. The likes of Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel and Umesh Yadav can be seen bowling to Virat Kohli in the nets as the talisman batters takes them on with an agressive intent.
Despite having some lean months, Virat is still up there as India’s top performers in WTC 2021-23 cycle. In 16 matches, he has scored 869 runs at an average of 32.18. In 28 innings, he scored one century and three half-centuries, with best score of 186. The right-handed batter will want to continue his good form against a lethal bowling attack of the Aussies.
As mentioned above, team India will be eyeing their first-ever ICC World Test Championship title as they take on mighty Australia from June 7. To note, this will be India’s successive entry at the WTC finals as they lost the inaugural edition to New Zealand. Starting fresh, India played some excellent red-ball cricket and ensured they yet again book the final berth for the Test championship.
On the other hand, Australia have already been jolted as their ace pacer Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out for the final match. However, the likes Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon can be quite dangerous for the Indian side as they chase another ICC trophy.
