Virat Kohli, the star batter for Team India, and Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif had a video conversation that went viral on social media. Given that teams have begun to visit Pakistan, where Kohli has a large following, the 35-year-old was heard saying he hopes to play there soon.
Kohli eager to visit Pakistan
In a video posted to his official Instagram account, Shehroze Kashif claimed that an Indian national helped him connect to Virat Kohli in Nepal in 2022. Shehroze posted a video of him having a video call with the Kohli.
“In 2022 I was in Nepal when a stranger, originally from India praised my work. He mentioned he had connections to the cricket team, so I jokingly expressed my desire to talk to Virat Kohli. To my surprise, he messaged Kohli on my behalf, and I had the opportunity to chat with him via video call. As a Pakistani, I proudly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era,” Shehroze wrote in the caption along with the video.
Kohli was heard saying in the video, “Give my regards to your family and all your friends. Hopefully, we visit Pakistan soon, everyone’s started visiting now.”

Will Kohli’s wish be fulfilled?
The main concern surrounding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is Team India’s participation, with Pakistan secured as the hosts. Pakistan was also supposed to host the Asia Cup in its entirety in 2023. But the BCCI declined to send a team to the neighboring country and chose to hold its matches in Sri Lanka. With numerous post-holders of BCCI advocating against playing 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan, it is highly unlikely that Kohli’s wish will be fulfilled in the near future.
