The IND vs BAN second Test starts on September 27 in Kanpur, and Team India made the most of the practice session on Wednesday. As per a report in Business Standard, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan were the first ones to hit the nets, while ex-skipper Virat Kohli followed soon.
But it seems, Virat struggled against the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and R Ashwin multiple times. It is important to note that the best batsman in the world had failed miserably in the first Test — and scored only six and 17 runs.
Virat Kohli Struggles vs Axar, Bumrah & Ashwin
The report revealed that it all started with Bumrah beating Virat’s bat with an outswinger. It did not stop there as he was beaten three more times in the nets. Then, coming to the spinners, Axar castled Virat after a few forward defensive shots. Post that, Ashwin also managed to get the better of the batter, and beat him a few times again.
In the last few matches, Virat’s form has been a bit of a concern. His last 100 had come last year, against West Indies in Port of Spain. After that, he has just one fifty in Tests since then, and is yet to score one this year. With the important New Zealand and Australia series’ coming up, it is important for the batter to come good.
