Virat Kohli desperate for IPL trophy with RCB says ‘Kind of dream to know what it feels like’

Can RCB finally break the curse and emerge victorious in 2024? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the passion between Virat Kohli, RCB, and their fans is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) legend Virat Kohli has ignited a fire in the hearts of fans, declaring his unwavering commitment to the franchise and his burning desire to finally lift the IPL trophy together.

An IPL dream with RCB faithfuls

Speaking at the RCB Unbox event on Tuesday, the 35-year-old batting maestro acknowledged the unwavering support of RCB fans despite the team’s 16-year title drought. He expressed his hope to emulate the recent success of the RCB Women’s team, who triumphed in the inaugural WPL 2024, by delivering the men’s team’s first IPL championship.

“Hopefully we can double it up with the trophies, that will be something truly special,” Virat Kohli said, hinting at a potential double celebration for RCB fans.

Never Leaving RCB Family: Virat Kohli

Kohli went a step further, pledging his unwavering loyalty to the franchise he has called home throughout his entire 16-year IPL career. He spoke of his long-held dream of lifting the IPL trophy, not just for himself, but to finally reward the endlessly faithful RCB fanbase.

“As everyone knows, I’m always gonna be here, try to be part of the group that wins it (IPL) for the first time…I will try my absolute best for the fans, for the franchise…it’s kind of a dream of mine as well over so many years, to know what it feels like to win the IPL,” Kohli declared at the event.

IPL 2024: Chance of redemption

While Virat Kohli himself enjoyed a successful IPL 2023 season, amassing 639 runs in 14 appearances, RCB’s overall performance fell short, finishing the season in a disappointing 6th place. The team is looking to bounce back stronger in 2024, and their quest for redemption begins with their opening match against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings on March 22nd at Chepauk Stadium.

Kohli’s unwavering dedication and burning desire to win the IPL trophy alongside the RCB faithful sets the stage for an electrifying season. Can they finally break the curse and emerge victorious in 2024? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the passion between Virat Kohli, RCB, and their fans is a powerful force to be reckoned with.
