Virat Kohli enjoys himself on the cricket field. Whether it be batting, bowling or fielding. With India on top in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka, the former skipper paid an ode to Riyan Parag. The 22-year-old, who’s part of the squad, was on the ground as a substitute fielder.
Kohli does a Parag
After taking a catch off the bowling of Axar Patel in the 27th over, Kohli looked at Parag and replicated his trademark ‘Bihu Dance’ celebration. Whether Kohli copied Parag to pay an ode or just pull his leg is uncertain, but it was quite something to watch.
Context behind Riyan Parag’s ‘Bihu Dance’ celebration
For the unaware, Parag does the traditional Assamese dance ‘Bihu’ to celebrate. He’d pulled it out during an IPL match. where he rescued the Rajasthan Royals from trouble and took them to victory. ‘That was the Bihu dance at the end, the traditional dance of Assam. Some of the Assamese boys were up there on the balcony,’ Parag said after the match.
The off-spin bowling all-rounder also pulled out the celebration after he got his first-ever IPL wicket and when he hit a sixth consecutive T20 fifty to create history last year.
